Evaluación de la Unidad II Scarling Piña (2024)

Within the multidimensional theory of anxiety the Revised Competitive State Anxiety Inventory-2 has been developed to assess somatic anxiety, cognitive anxiety and self-confidence in sport. Th is study aimed to evaluate the three-factor model of the CSAI-2R intensity and direction scales adapted to the Mexican context, examining its reliability and factorial invariance across gender. 454 college athletes (M = 21.15 years, SD = 2.02) answered the instruments. Results supported the three-factor model for the intensity scale, and confirmed its total invariance across gender. A two-factor model was most adequate for the direction scale, and partial invariance across gender was confirmed. In conclusion, this adaptation of the CSAI-2R in both direction and intensity scales can be used to assess precompetitive anxiety. Keywords: invariant, competition, emotion, ill-being, interpretation.
