Thank you Yuki Tominaga , Irene Niskier Cayet and everyone at Bloomberg for organising this special event to launch the Luxembourg 🇱🇺 chapter for EU Women in Finance. Enjoyed the opportunity to have unfiltered, authentic, constructive conversations on how we can make the #financialsector more accessible for and inclusive of #women - and why! that is important. Was very humbled to be surrounded by so many esteemed people who have already given so much to the financial sector and inclusion, thank you 🙏 Looking forward to continuing this conversation 💪

Together with a number of colleagues, we worked hard to prepare our latest Corporate Sustainability Report, and we are happy to be able to finally share the 2️⃣ 0️⃣ 2️⃣ 3️⃣ results ⬇ ⬇ ⬇ This report was a particularly special one for me, as it covers the first year I managed #corporatesustainability activities at Quintet Private Bank. I am grateful for the opportunity to carry this important topic forward across our different departments and countries, working alongside some remarkable colleagues. A lot has been done, a lot remains to be done! Ad maiora! 💪

Think a planet without #fastfashion is impossible to imagine? Try these:The simplest ones:🎀 check the tag on your existing clothes, to make sure you always wash them in the right way and can keep them as long as possible.🎀 borrow from your friends and family. You may not need that item of clothing more than just once or twice in your lifetime, is it really worthwhile buying it? And as my dearest Lavinia Anselmi always says when she borrows my mountain clothes “I’ll carry a piece of you with me on top of that mountain!” 💙🎀 the extra-level after borrowing: if that works for you size-wise, you can non-chalantly ask your parent or sibling to hand over to you some of their clothes, forever 😉 🎀 buy second-hand. You’ll find unique items, get your creativity flowing, and find good deals! …And by the way, all of the above can easily be done between men’s & women’s clothing, as I’m currently typing while wearing a sweater my brother wore for years before giving it to me more than 10 years ago (on top of a t-shirt my mother used to own and gave me last year). The admittedly less immediate actions you can take to survive without fast fashion - because it requires informing oneself, which I know takes time:✅ check where the item was made✅ check the website of the brand, and try to look for their #sustainabilityreport✅ identify #sustainablefashion shops and brands around you and support them. What does «sustainable» mean? You can think: 🌱reused 🌱repurposed 🌱local🌱materials that have less impact on nature & oceans

Feeling particularly energised today after concluding a series of events we organised at Quintet Private Bank to mark this year’s #InternationalWomensDay. The goal of our Luxembourg Women’s Network is to support women at Quintet in Luxembourg, promoting a gender diverse and inclusive working environment. We do this because we are convinced that by ensuring our people feel included and valued, they can bring to the table the best they have and their authentic self – and this helps us all grow and succeed. And personally, what drives me to #InspireInclusion is the hope that this helps not only my current colleagues, not only the candidates we are looking to recruit, but also our children. May future generations not need to worry about feeling included and powerful in their #diversity.

Summarising this #book 📚 in a post would not do it justice and would defeat the whole purpose of the book. So I’ll limit myself to noting some of the thoughts I wrote down while reading, hoping it will prompt some curiosity among those of you motivated to humbly learn and try to do better in a society so infused in century-long oppression. After all, while I tend to read and write about the E-side of ESG, I know that no achievement could be fairly claimed within sustainable development without an honest and deep consideration of the S-side.On the one hand, I admit that some definitions could have been helpful. Sometimes I felt it was taken for granted that we all have a basic understanding of #racism concepts but actually - and ironically, given that “we are all products of a racialized society, and it affects everything we bring to our interactions” - we don’t. On the other hand however, this book is extremely concrete. Every chapter has very specific and concrete advice. One of the many that particularly moved me: “Ask yourself: am I trying to to be right, or am I trying to do better? Conversations on racism should never be about winning. This battle is too important to be so simplified. You are in this to share, and to learn. You are in this to do better and be better. You are not trying to score points, and victory will rarely look like your opponent conceding defeat and vowing to never argue with you again. Because your opponent isn’t a person, it’s the system of racism that often shows up in the words and actions of other people.[…] Take care in your conversations, remember that you are dealing with the real hurt of human beings. But be brave in that care, be honest in that care. These conversations will never become easy, but they will become easier. They will never be painless, but they can lessen future pain. They will never be risk-free, but they will always be worth it.”Ijeoma Oluo’s writing is extremely powerful, as she really “talksto” the reader, you could imagine yourself sitting in your living room with her. The directness and clarity of her writing comes with countless personal anecdotes. And you can really feel the pain through her recounting. Especially when the stories concern her children. Some chapters (I am thinking of “How can I talk of affirmative action”) were particularly shocking, painful, and disheartening to read.As she puts it, with her writing she wants to offer “something that many readers were craving - honesty, authenticity, and utility.” If you are craving this, then get this book.

Applications for the Quintet Private Bank #Graduate programme are open! Great opportunity to start your #career with a programme split in four rotations. By being exposed to different teams, topics, and managers you can be sure to have a rich professional experience 💡 Cherry on the cake: you get to have the kindest and most dedicated Georgia Greer managing the whole programme to make sure you experience the #growth you are looking for. I've personally had the pleasure of participating in the graduate programme as a manager within Maeva Laporte's first rotation and am thrilled to start working with Evie Campbell in a few weeks time for her second rotation. The freshness you both bring to our work is invaluable - I am so grateful to have you on board! 🙏 To all young graduates out there - check this out ➡ https://lnkd.in/gaxHnXMD(Link in the first comment to apply to our Graduate programme in the Netherlands)

As #homelessness is an issue very dear to me, I have always tried to do what I can for those in need and for the organisations working on this cause. I deeply admire Stëmm vun der Strooss and have always loved working with them when with the Global Shapers Luxembourg City Hub we organised our "Street Store". It is thus with great pride and happiness that I thank the Stëmm for welcoming 12 of my colleagues to support them in preparing and serving their annual Christmas meal to those in need, I thank my colleagues for eagerly taking up this task, and I thank my employer for making a significant donation to ensure hundreds of people can sleep in warmer conditions this winter. 🙏 Nicholas Nesson Stella Castellucci Nicole Yasmin S.
