CARD OF THANKS Alfred J. Quick, 65, Fairmont, died Thursday, September 19, 1963, at the Fillmore County hospital Geneva, where he was admitted the day previous. He had been in failing health several years.
Mr. Quick was born January 4, 1898, near York, the son of Alfred and Rosa A. Quick. He spent most of his lifetime farming in York and Fillmore counties. Mr.
Quick was married to Ruth Garwood at Phillips, November 25, 1927. To this union were born four sons and two daughters, all of whom survive. They are John of Joplin, Robert of Fairmont, Richard and James, at home, Mrs. Harry (Donna) Rathje of York and Mrs. Don (Deloris) Veskrna of.
Lincoln. He is also survived by his wife, grandchildren, two brothers, 'Robert of Omaha and Edwin of York, and a sister, Mrs. Hazel Comstock of York. He was and preceded sister, in death Rachel. by his parents a was an active member of the Fairmont Odd Fellow lodge and the Fairmont Methodist church.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p. m. Sunday, September 22, with Rev. Leonard Hartwig officiating. Mrs.
Rex sang "'The is My Shepherd" and "My Faith Look Up to Thee." Miss Nancy Gunlack was accompanist. Pallbearers were Reuben Ackerman, Darrell Cudaback, Max Galusha, Floyd Gunlack, Jacobsen and Raph Keil. Fulton (Zephyr Cressman) of 1149 South 17th street, Lincoln, died Monday, September 23, 1963. She was born February 12, 1877, in Iowa. She was the daughter of Rev. A. A.
Cressman and his wife. She was graduated from the Fairmont high school in the class of 1896. She also attended Doane college. Her father was a pioneer Congregational pastor. Because of the illness of her mother, Zephyr joined her father in the active work of the churches of Wahoo, Albion, Fairmont, Red Cloud and Crete, Neb.
Her married life was spent at Red Cloud and Barnston. As a widow she lived in Minneapolis, coming to Lincoln about 1947. She was a member of First Plymouth Congregational church and Y.W.C.A. of Lincoln. Survivors are a nephew, Ralph Cressman, M.
of Palo Alto, and a niece, Mrs. William H. Claussen of Berkeley, Cal. Injured In Football Practice Eddie Stephenson, 14-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs.
Robert Stephenson, and a high school freshman this year, was injured while at football practice Tuesday, September 17. He received a shoulder separation and was taken to St. Elizabeth hospital in Lincoln. He underwent surgery Friday. He was able to come home Monday evening and is getting along well, but the injury is very painful.

Eleven members answered roll call by telling a highlight of the summer. The group enjoyed singing several selections.
The president, Mrs. Marvin Swartz, told about the many extension activities in the month of October. The club voted the county chairman and the Christmas work shop was. discussed. After the business meeting the officers for 1964 were selected.

The next meeting will be with Mrs. Rex Brown. P.C. Studying In Speech Department Among the Fillmore county students at the University of Nebraska is Richard Maulsby of Fairmont. He is a junior in the department of speech and arts.
He is son of Mr. and Mrs. Maulsby, Richard was interviewed Friday evening on the Joe Martin show on Channel 10 in connection with the dramatics department at the university. Richard has appeared in several productions at Howell Memorial theater, as well as being in laboratory and experimental theater productions.
