S'mores Popcorn Recipe - Rachel Cooks® (1)

About S’mores Popcorn

Begin with a half cup of unpopped popcorn kernels. I like to use “mushroom” kernels because they pop up so large and round, but any kind of kernel, white or yellow, will work. Use an air popper to pop the kernels and spread them on a big rimmed baking sheet.

Next, sprinkle on mini marshmallows and graham cracker cereal, such as Golden Grahams.

Melt milk chocolate chips (or semi-sweet, if you prefer) and drizzle the melted chocolate over the popcorn mixture. Gently shake the pan to make sure the chocolate coats everything. Let the s’mores popcorn cool (if you can wait that long, I know I couldn’t!) until the chocolate hardens up.

This is so good! You’re going to love it! I think I like s’more popcorn better than regular campfire s’mores.

All the great flavors you love in the favorite campfire treat but packed in popcorn! This s’mores popcorn will be perfect for your next movie night!

Ingredients

  • ½ cup unpopped popcorn kernels
  • 2 cups graham cracker cereal (such as Golden Grahams)
  • 2 cups mini marshmallows
  • 2 cups milk chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Use an air popper to pop popcorn. Remove any unpopped or partially popped kernels and spread popcorn on two large rimmed baking sheets.

  • Sprinkle graham cracker cereal and marshmallows over the popped popcorn.

  • Melt chocolate (I do it in 30 second intervals using the microwave, being careful not to overheat. A double boiler would work great too.). Drizzle melted chocolate over popcorn mixture.

  • Gently shake pans to make sure chocolate adheres to everything. Let chocolate harden before storing in an airtight container.

  • Best enjoyed within a couple of days.

Notes

  • I use mushroom popcorn kernels for this popcorn because it pops up really full and round. You can find it on Amazon. Regular popcorn (white or yellow) also works fine.
  • To remove unpopped kernels, put the popcorn into a large bowl and gently stir or shake the popcorn. The heavier unpopped kernels will sink to the bottom.

I am absolutely dying over this popcorn! Is it wrong that I want to make it and sneak it into a movie with me? Do they still have those “no outside food” rules? Either way, I’d risk getting busted for this.

but s’mores… hmm thing is Im not fond of marshmallow (yes its true!! ) so would switch it out with crunchy peanut butter !!
We have a fire pit & everyone always wants to make s’mores. I ALWAYS have the fixins to make it… even bought the HUGE double size marshmallows. We do it old school…. graham crackers & milk chocolate Hershey Bars… Sticky ooey gooey lots of fun !! In my opinion the only good marshmallow is burned to a crisp…. just got to be careful of burning your tongue !!!!
