“Loaded with family-friendly keto staples that don’t take hours to prepare, this book is a slam dunk for keto beginners and experts alike.”—Mark Sisson, New York Times bestselling author of The Keto Reset Diet and The Primal Blueprint

NAMED ONE OF THE BEST COOKBOOKS OF THE YEAR BY BUZZFEED

There's a reason that the ketogenic diet has become so wildly popular: It truly works! And weight loss is just the beginning. Studies have shown that the keto diet stabilizes mood, raises energy levels, controls blood sugar, lowers blood pressure, improves cholesterol, and more.

Unfortunately, many people are intimidated by keto—they don't have a lot of time to cook, they have a whole family to feed, or they worry that they'll miss their favorite meals. That is why Maya Krampf created her now hugely popular website, Wholesome Yum, to share easy keto recipes all with ten ingredients or less. And now, in her first cookbook, Maya is determined to show people that a keto lifestyle does not have to be complicated, time-consuming, unsustainable, or boring.

The Wholesome Yum Easy Keto Cookbook
features 100 super-simple, I-can't-believe-that's-keto recipes including flourless chocolate chip peanut butter waffles, sheet pan sausage breakfast sandwiches, crispy keto chicken fingers, spaghetti squash ramen soup, keto garlic bread sticks, cinnamon roll pizza, and much more. You don't have to give up your favorite foods—virtually anything you like to eat can be made keto, and delectably so. The book also features a primer on the keto diet, essential pantry-stocking tips, and a section dedicated to creating Maya's signature "fathead" keto dough that is used to prepare delicious keto breads, pastries, tortillas, and more.

INTRODUCTION

There’s a reason that the ketogenic diet has become so wildly popular. It truly works. And, weight loss is just the beginning. Studies have shown that it stabilizes mood, raises energy levels, controls blood sugar, lowers blood pressure, improves cholesterol, and more.

I have personally seen the benefits in my own life. I spent years feeding bad habits in my teens and early twenties. This time in my life was marked with packaged foods, loads of sugar, low energy, anxiety, and even depression. Like many people, I started a low carb diet to lose weight.

Surprisingly, while the weight loss was nice, the biggest impact was the benefit to my overall health.

The low carb, keto lifestyle has completely changed my mental and physical well-being. I feel more motivated and energetic than I ever have in my life. My mood is stable. My anxiety and depression are gone. Two kids later, I’m at a healthy weight with low blood pressure and cholesterol, despite a strong family history of the contrary.

Unfortunately, many people are intimidated by keto. They don’t have a lot of time to cook, they have a whole family to feed, or they worry that they’ll miss their favorite meals.

I created my site, WholesomeYum.com, to show people that low carb and keto eating doesn’t have to be difficult, complicated, or boring. It all started as a way to record my recipe experiments. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that it would help millions of people.

Every day, readers tell me how the keto lifestyle has changed their lives. My only wish is to help more people see how easy and beneficial it can be.

This book is an extension of that undertaking. It’s packed with delicious and easy keto recipes, including everything you need to make them foolproof—from step-by-step instructions that even the most novice cooks can follow to great tips and variations that will help you nail each recipe and even make it your own.

Like the Wholesome Yum website, each recipe in The Wholesome Yum Easy Keto Cookbook requires 10 ingredients or less. By convention, salt and pepper are not included, and we only count each ingredient once, even if it’s used twice in making a dish. And of course, each recipe includes essential macros information.

You’ll also learn the basics of how to get started if you are new to a low carb or keto lifestyle. And if you aren’t, you’ll still find something new in these easy keto recipes!
